Nearly 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the area, generating wind gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Widespread Damage
Locals observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was forecast to be the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both states.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
